Train Positive Dog!

Dawn Gilkison currently owns one dog – Puffin, a Stabyhoun.  Puffin is a medium sized, all purpose hunting breed who is an expert mole hunter.  Deagan, a Large Munsterlander, recently passed away at age 10 – we miss him!

In addition to owning and operating Positive Solutions Dog Training (Portland, Oregon metro area), Dawn has taught biology at a community college and previously was a high school science teacher.

Dawn earned a B.A. in Biology from Reed College where she first became interested in animal behavior,  a M.S. in Biology from San Diego State University where she researched social behavior in captive wolves, and teacher certification from Lewis and Clark College.  Dawn is also a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner.  All this education has created a life-long learner who continues to apply the science of animal learning to the art of dog training.  This blog is written by Dawn, in her own words.
